The Director of Decision Sciences is responsible for taking client reporting and providing actionable insights from data to KERN clients and the KERN strategy team.


  • Responsible to help optimize the campaign and investment performance of our clients marketing investments, by monitoring campaign results, interpreting those results and providing insights and recommendations for next step optimizations.
  • Responsible to ensure the campaign reporting is converted to data intelligence to guide targeting, media and creative strategy.
  • Drive organic and new logo revenue through active participation with new business teams and account directors.
  • Identify new vendor relationships (media and data) as needed to achieve the department and agency objectives
  • Proactively provide guidance, creative thinking, and direction to department staff.
  • Develop staff on how to translate reporting data into insights and recommendations for client presentation
  • Increase the sophistication of the implementing and reporting of the agency’s data analytical offerings (web analytics, data analytics, data modeling and campaign tracking)
  • Maintain appropriate and responsive relationships with vendors, and disseminate pertinent information acquired from those relationships to team members in a timely manner
  • Responsible to have the staff provide proper and timely information to Finance on vendor purchase orders and invoices to meet compliance requirements


  • Ability to analyze complex data, market research, and formulate recommendations, learning plans and accurate test plans
  • Ability to coach and manage a team of data reporting specialists
  • Experience in a broad range of Direct Response Media including wide range of interactive, search, mobile, social media, and traditional DR media (print, direct mail and email lists).
  • Experience in leading a wide range of data analytics, modeling and campaign reporting initiatives, including the ability to direct a range of “model” development projects, convert customer data into marketing and targeting insights and the ability to drive web and campaign measurement programs.
  • Experience working with a broad range of B to B (technology) and large scale B to C clients.
  • Must be onsite on a regular basis to successfully guide the staff and interact with the other members of the agency.


A minimum of 10 years agency/client experience, with 5 years supervising data analysts direct reports.
